Backend Engineer E2 Developer

Position: Backend Engineer E2 Developer Experience Location: Spring Arbor Overview Bit Go is the leading infrastructure provider of digital asset solutions, delivering custody, wallets, staking, trading, financing, and settlement services from regulated cold storage. Bit Go serves thousands of institutions and millions of retail investors worldwide. Role We are looking for a Backend Engineer - E2 to join our Dev Ex team to empower developers with SDKs, developer portals, and APIs that enable clients to self-serve our API products with minimal friction. Responsibilities • Build customer-centric quality systems: design, implement, and operate production-grade internal systems that exercise Bit Go’s APIs as real customers do; proactively identify failure modes, prevent regressions, and raise confidence in every release. • Own API quality and correctness at scale: design and evolve monitoring, alerting, and metrics systems that track API drift, breaking changes, and specification compliance across the platform; use data to surface risk and drive improvements. • Ship durable developer tooling: design and deliver CI gates, linters, and automation that block defects early in the lifecycle; ensure correctness, performance, and long-term maintainability of tools used by hundreds of engineers. • Operate with end-to-end ownership: drive projects from problem definition through design, implementation, rollout, and iteration; write clear design docs and balance speed with correctness. • Partner cross-functionally: work with product, infrastructure, security, QA, sales engineering, and customer-facing teams to understand real user needs and translate them into technical solutions. • Raise the engineering bar: contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and design; identify systemic issues and propose improvements for the broader organization. Qualifications • 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience, with ownership of production systems. • Strong proficiency in at least one modern, statically typed or functional language (e.g., Type Script, Rust, Go, Java) and ability to learn others quickly. • Experience designing and building backend systems or developer tooling (APIs, CI/CD pipelines, linters, testing infrastructure, or internal platforms). • Ability to work autonomously: tackle ambiguous problems, clarify requirements, propose solutions, and execute with limited guidance. • Solid system design fundamentals: scalability, reliability, observability, and pragmatic trade-offs in real-world systems. • Strong communication skills: clear design documents, ability to explain trade-offs, and collaboration across teams/time zones. • Interest in developer experience and enabling other engineers to be faster, safer, and more effective. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with API developer portals and documentation tooling. • Familiarity with tools for generating and maintaining OpenAPI specifications. • Strong data analysis skills with experience tracking user journeys and driving continuous improvement. #J-18808-Ljbffr
