Principal Frontend Engineer

About the Role We're looking for a Frontend Engineer to own and evolve the systems that power Vuln Check's user-facing products—our web platform and marketing website. This is a hands‑on role where you'll drive the direction of the product UI, maintain and improve the website, and collaborate closely with Product to shape how customers experience Vuln Check's intelligence. Although this is a 100% remote role, candidates must be located in Massachusetts, Maryland, or Greater Austin, TX. What You'll Do • Own the product UI end-to-end: architecture, development, and continuous improvement • Lead frontend direction—establishing patterns, component systems, and design standards • Build and maintain the marketing website, balancing speed with quality • Write clean, maintainable code across the stack (frontend-first, with backend context as needed) • Partner closely with Product and Design to translate requirements into polished user experiences • Improve performance, accessibility, and reliability of customer-facing interfaces • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to frontend architecture decisions • Debug and resolve production UI issues with durable, thoughtful solutions • Mentor other engineers on frontend best practices and contribute to engineering culture What You'll Bring • 5+ years of experience building and shipping production web applications • Background in cybersecurity or technical data products • Strong proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React preferred) • Full-stack competence—comfortable working across the codebase, backend experience a plus • Experience owning a product UI or web property end-to-end • Solid understanding of web performance, accessibility, and browser compatibility • Ability to work closely with designers and translate visual direction into high-quality implementations • Strong ownership mindset—you notice what's broken and fix it without being asked • Clear communication and ability to collaborate cross-functionally Preferred Qualifications • Experience in B2B SaaS or developer-facing products • Familiarity with design systems or component library ownership • Experience in high-growth or startup environments What We Offer We believe people do their best work when they feel supported, trusted, and valued.
