Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Hybrid 3 days per week in Arlington, VA Compensation: $240K–$270K base + equity (targeting $300K+ total comp) About the Company Our client is a fast-growing, profitable, venture-backed startup building advanced maritime intelligence systems used across commercial and defense environments. They have a network of sensors deployed on ships around the world providing unmatched intelligence to operators, are growing rapidly, and are looking for the right addition to their team. The team comes from top-tier startups and technical orgs, and they’re focused on building real systems that operate in the field. Think edge devices, real-time data, video, and mission-critical environments. If you’ve ever wanted to work on software that actually touches the real world while having real equity and project ownership, this is it. Why This Role You won’t be stuck on one layer of the stack. You’ll be building the interfaces, pipelines, and systems that connect hardware to cloud to user, including mobile apps, web platforms, and real-time data flows. There’s a ton of ownership here. You’ll ship fast, solve real problems, and work on systems that are actively used in the field. This is a strong fit for engineers who: • Get bored working on isolated frontend or backend problems • Want to work on real-time systems, data, and infrastructure • Like debugging complex systems end-to-end • Care about building things that actually matter What You’ll Work On • Building and scaling web + mobile applications that interface with real-world systems • Designing backend services in Node.js that handle live data streams • Working with AWS (IoT, Kinesis, S3) to ingest and process data from distributed systems • Building frontend experiences in React Native, Kotlin, and TypeScript • Implementing video streaming workflows (RTSP / SRT) • Integrating across cloud systems, mobile apps, and edge devices • Debugging issues across the full stack, including real-time and production environments What You Bring • 6+ years of full stack experience • Must have experience with GIS or mapping data • Strong in Node.js + modern frontend (React Native / TypeScript), as well as AWS and real-world data pipelines. • Must be eligible for a security clearance • Past experience in defense or maritime environments a large plus • Experience with hardware-integrated or edge systems • Experience with video streaming (RTSP / SRT) • Experience building mobile apps (iOS + Android) • Comfort working across systems, not just within one layer • Strong debugging instincts and ability to figure things out quickly Service to Success and its employer partners are equal opportunity employers.
