Description

We are looking for a designer and project manager to support our client, a luxury beauty brand. The design and project manager, is a dual-expertise role working with the store design team, positioned at the intersection of design execution and rigorous projects management. You will bring 5+ years of experience, driving end-to-end delivery of multi-stream creative and design programs in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. This role operates in a hybrid capacity with several days per week onsite at our client in midtown Manhattan. This role is focused on the technical development and quality oversight of store projects, requiring a candidate who can produce high-quality AutoCAD and Sketchup rendering documentation and manage millwork quality standards through rigorous weekly coordination. You will collaborate with and align cross-functional teams, including visual merchandise partners, brand managers, vendors, retailers and senior stakeholders, across simultaneous initiatives, acting as the connective tissue between creative vision and execution reality. Your design sensibility is central to how you communicate with design leads, evaluate creative output, and ensure that brand intent is preserved throughout every phase of delivery. Beyond day-to-day project management, you will bring expertise in optimizing workflows, managing vendor ecosystems, while fostering a collaborative environment that consistently drives exceptional design outcomes. Responsibilities: Own end-to-end delivery of multi-stream projects across multiple brands, managing project timelines, milestones, and quality from design to completion. Maintain a consolidated, always-current view of the store design portfolio across brands to present to store design leadership and varied stakeholders Lead cross-functional alignment across design teams, brand managers, vendors, and senior stakeholders across simultaneous large-scale initiatives and be a point of contact for cross-functional partners including brand teams, finance, vendors, and retailers Support the creation and delivery of high-impact presentation documents, program recaps, and executive status updates Lead the technical phase of retail design projects from design development to final execution, ensuring all design and construction milestones are met. Produce and update detailed technical sets using AutoCAD. This includes creating comprehensive fixture drawings, electrical/power plans, and floor/wall tiling layouts that comply with both brand and landlord requirements. Expertly review and annotate millwork shop drawings. Ensure precision in structural details, material specifications, and technical integration to maintain the integrity of the design concept. Partner with design leads to ensure creative intent is preserved throughout every project lifecycle, from concept through in-store execution Bridge the gap between design ambition and operational feasibility, ensuring detail-oriented creative output remains aligned with strategic goals Leverage proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and AutoCAD to engage meaningfully with design deliverables and vendor documentation Developing vendor relationships across the different projects Be solution-oriented and pro-active. Be detail oriented. Requirements Bachelor's degree required; Architecture, Interior Design, or a related creative field strongly preferred 5+ years of experience in design and project management, with a focus on multi-stream design programs in fast-paced environments Demonstrated design expertise: strong command of retail design principles, brand rollout, and prototyping; ability to evaluate and guide creative output Proven track record managing large-scale design programs for high-profile clients; experience in the Beauty or Luxury industry a strong plus Strong ability to partner with and align cross-functional teams across simultaneous initiatives and projects Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and AutoCAD; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Strong communication and interpersonal skills Highly organized, solutions-oriented, and adaptable, with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and adjust to pressing timelines in dynamic environments Experience in a US retail or luxury brand environment strongly preferred Benefits The anticipated salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 annually. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.
