Positioning Summary This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact CFO role within a profitable, founder-led organization that is in the process of modernizing its finance function. The position offers strong exposure to strategic decision-making, growth initiatives, and potential exit planning, on top of supporting daily operations. Compensation can range from $200k-$250k salary, plus potential bonus. Company Overview • Founder-led business based in Bethesda, MD (with VA office as well) with approximately $30-40M in revenue and ~20 employees • Operates primarily as a technology reseller (~90% of business), with an ownership stake in an international affiliated company • Utilizes QuickBooks and Salesforce as core systems - looking to upgrade in the future • Business performance has been strong, with solid results last year and continued momentum this year • Operates in a remote environment with offices in Maryland and Virginia Key Responsibilities • Act as a strategic partner to ownership • Support growth planning, potential acquisitions, and long-term exit strategy (~5-year horizon) • Oversee outsourced accounting and tax functions • Provide financial insight, reporting analysis, and decision support • Help formalize and refine CFO responsibilities • Collaborate with corporate advisors and leadership Candidate Profile • Gov Con/VAR Finance leader with experience with founder-led/entrepreneurial stage and lean teams (potentially utilizing outsourced accounting structures) • Strong strategic finance and business partnering skillset • Comfortable operating very hands-on with highly fluid/dynamic work environment • Exposure to M&A, growth strategy, or exit planning preferred
