The role of Director of Sales, Catering at Montage International represents a dynamic leadership position within the sales and events team. This individual will be responsible for driving revenue growth by soliciting new and existing accounts through telephone outreach, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communications. A critical aspect of the role involves overseeing the coordination and execution of client functions to ensure customer satisfaction is consistently exceeded. The Director will lead the events team, ensuring that all goals related to sales and service are not only met but surpassed. Networking within the community and industry events is part of the role to stay abreast of market trends and competitors, which helps in developing strategies to capture new business opportunities. The position is well suited for a seasoned professional with a strong background in catering sales and service, preferably within the Los Angeles hotel market.
This full-time leadership role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $108,500 to $135,000, exclusive of incentives such as commissions and gratuities. The work environment features a moderate temperature controlled by hotel environmental systems, and tasks vary from desk-based activities to physical movement around the hotel to facilitate events and meetings. • High school or equivalent education required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years catering sales & service experience preferred in a Los Angeles area hotel market
• Familiarity with food and beverage basics, menu planning and private/group event coordination and planning
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding
• Knowledge of computers, sales/catering software, and Microsoft Office programs
