Description
Coda search is leading a search for a national vertically integrated real estate company that is seeking to hire Senior Property with offices located in New Jersey and New York. The role would sit in the residential property accounting team where the Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of units including leading month-end close, overseeing all operational accounting tasks, budgeting, forecasting, and preparing monthly variance analysis on each property.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee accounting for a portfolio of properties
• Lead and manage the month-end close process
• Perform all operational accounting functions, including journal entries, accrals, and reconciliations
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements
• Conduct detailed variance analysis at the property level
• Assist with and support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• Partner with property management and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/finance
• 3+ years of experience in property accounting
• Strong excel skills (must have VLOOKUPS and pivots)
• Excellent communication skills
• Prior property accounting experience required
