AI Engineer(Hybrid - San Francisco)

Salary: $175K $250K based on your experience AI Engineer (Hybrid - San Francisco) We are currently supporting a new client based in San Francisco that is building next generation AI powered healthcare workflow solutions. They are looking for a AI Engineer to join their early engineering team and help build production grade AI systems from the ground up. Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) Compensation: $175K - $250K based on your experience Experience:7+ Years Employment Type: Full-Time Key Responsibilities: • Design, build, deploy, and optimize AI/LLM-powered features in production. • Architect scalable AI systems including prompting, retrieval, agents, orchestration, and tool usage. • Build evaluation frameworks and feedback loops for model quality and performance. • Work closely with leadership on AI strategy, product direction, and technical roadmap. • Productionize AI responsibly with observability, guardrails, and secure handling of sensitive data. • Contribute across the stack as needed in a fast-moving startup environment. • Establish engineering standards and support growth of the early AI team. Required Skills: • Strong expertise in TypeScript. • Hands-on experience building and shipping Generative AI / LLM features to production. • Experience with LangChain and modern AI frameworks. • Strong backend and database experience with PostgreSQL. • 7+ years of software engineering experience. • Experience with React.js/ Next.js/React Native. • Backend development using NestJS. • Cloud and DevOps exposure, preferably GCP. • Startup or 01 product-building experience. • Strong ownership mindset and ability to work autonomously. • Must have experience in healthcare technology.
