Lab Support Senior Engineer
Lab Support Engineering is at the heart of a worldwide lab operations team providing 24x7 lab access, service and solutions support in multiple locations. Independent and flexible, team members are always ready to adapt to the changing daily priorities. They make an impact in all kinds of ways - from installing and maintaining servers and storage equipment within the fast-paced AI lab computing environment, through to providing top-level technical expertise and support to engineering departmental users. What's more, they work with engineering teams to create hardware configuration test plans in support of software and AI solutions development.
What you'll achieve
As a Lab Support Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for
• Deploying innovative solutions and infrastructure for the product development engineering team and supporting their needs in the product development life cycle
• You will partner with various teams in product engineering teams to understand their needs for infrastructure and solutions and deploy hardware, install, and configure network, manage software, troubleshoot across the stack (hardware, OS, network, software)
• You will be responsible for building and supporting development and testing environments in our Next Generation Engineering Lab Infrastructure program for unstructured and file storage products.
You will:
• Be the SME for Shared Services Lab Operations Engineering team
• Partner with the Product Engineering team in creating solutions for their requirements and needs
• Build and support development and testing environments consisting of storage products, servers and switches
• Manage inventory and asset database
• Lead a team in executing large projects and programs
• Develop and document processes needed in Lab Operations
• Mentor other lab support engineers on various technologies
Essential Requirements
• Deep knowledge of various hardware platforms, especially Dell PowerEdge platform
• Hands on experience in deploying hardware - rack, stack, cable, install and configure
• Practical experience with scale out architecture, preferably - installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Hands on experience with networking products - Cisco, Arista, Dell switches
• Physical installation of hardware
• Technical configurations of systems (storage, operating systems, top of rack switches)
• Asset Management and inventory control
• Expertise in using ticketing tools like ServiceNow
• Experience in enterprise infrastructure monitoring tools
• Communication across various stakeholders
• Ability to bring consensus between teams and competing priorities
• Great customer service skills - doing everything to help the customer to resolve the issue and finding RCA
• Experience with Agile Scrum development process
• Experience in using scrum at scale in shared services model
• Experience to automate the deployments - preferably Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge and experience in building infrastructure automation
• Knowledge and experience in using AI tools to monitor infrastructure services

• Mentor and train less experienced engineers

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is 96,800.00 - 145,000.00 USD Annual
