We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sr Digital Product Manager (individual contributor) to join the Digital Investing Products and Platforms team. In this role, you will lead the backlog and delivery of portfolio management capabilities supporting Schwab’s robo-advisor product - Schwab Intelligent Portfolios (SIP).
This role is accountable for translating strategic direction into high-quality execution, ensuring trading logic, trading workflows, and supporting tools deliver accurate, scalable, and compliant outcomes. You will serve as a senior voice within the Agile team, driving execution, shaping priorities, and maintaining operational excellence.
Backlog Leadership & Execution
Own and drive the product backlog for trading and portfolio management capabilities (trading logic, drift detection, tax loss harvesting)
Translate complex business needs into well-structured epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria
Prioritize work across features, production support, and technical debt, balancing risk, value, and delivery feasibility
Understand and appreciate technology driven work just as much as business driven work
Agile Delivery Excellence
Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and PI planning with a focus on readiness and clarity
Partner closely with engineering and QA to ensure solutions are testable, scalable, and high quality
Validate and accept completed work, ensuring alignment to business outcomes and production readiness
Cross-Functional Influence
Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and delivery teams, influencing priorities and trade-offs
Drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Operations, Risk, and Portfolio Management
Proactively manage dependencies, risks, and escalations
Production Stability & Risk Ownership
Oversee production support, including issue triage, resolution, and validation
Lead incident response efforts and ensure root cause analysis drives sustained improvements
Ensure all work meets regulatory, audit, and control requirements with strong documentation and traceability
What you have
Required Qualifications
7-10 years of experience in digital product management, preferably with 5+ years in the Financial Services, Fintech, or related industries
Experience with Agile product development methodologies
Strong experience owning and leading complex product backlogs with clear, testable requirements
Comfort operating in a role that blends delivery + production support
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence decisions and align across teams
Experience working in regulated environments with disciplined documentation and risk management practices
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using SQL (or similar querying tools) to analyze data, investigate production issues, and validate outcomes
Familiarity with leveraging AI tools (e.g., copilots, automation assistants) to increase efficiency in backlog management, documentation, analysis, and day-to-day delivery activities
