- Pro/Career subscriptions: cancel anytime with 1 click from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. No pro-rata refund for the current cycle.
- One-shot AI products: 14-day withdrawal right only if you haven't generated the deliverable yet. Once generated, the deliverable is yours and the right of withdrawal lapses (Italian Consumer Code Art. 59 lit. o).

1. Pro and Career subscriptions
When you subscribed via /pricing, you clicked «Subscribe Pro/Career» after reading the «Before you subscribe» box showing the recurring amount, frequency, cancellation method, and links to Terms and Refund Policy. The click constitutes express informed consent to recurring billing under the Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act (ROSCA, 15 USC § 8403) and California Automatic Renewal Law (Bus. & Prof. Code § 17602).Your consent is logged in our systems (date, time, IP, Stripe session) as legal evidence.
What this means in practice:
- Cancel anytime from your dashboard (Account → Billing → Cancel subscription) or via Stripe Customer Portal — 1 click, no phone calls, no retention scripts.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle: you keep accessing Pro/Career features until the period you already paid for ends.
- No pro-rata refund for the current cycle (unused days): the service was provided and your express consent authorized the full charge.
- No future charges after cancellation.
2. One-shot AI products (Cover Letter, Resume, Career Path, Mock Interview, Salary Brief)
For one-shot AI products, the refund regime has two phases:
Phase 1 — Purchase before generation (typically: you paid but haven't completed the intake form or clicked «Generate» yet): you can request a full refund within 14 days under EU Directive 2011/83 and Italian Consumer Code Art. 52 (applied as TalentyGo baseline policy regardless of your jurisdiction). Email [email protected] within 14 days with your order number.
Phase 2 — Purchase after generation (the deliverable was generated and delivered via email or made available in your dashboard): the right of withdrawal lapses at the moment of generation, under Italian Consumer Code Art. 59 lit. o (digital content on non-material medium, execution started with express consent).
We recommend reviewing your input (job description, resume, personal data) carefully before confirming generation, as «change of mind» refunds are not possible afterwards.
3. Always refunded (regardless of express consent)
Even if you waived withdrawal rights or are outside the guarantee window, we refund in full in these cases:
- Double Stripe charge: verifiable from order page. Refund within 24h.
- Deliverable not delivered: you didn't receive the PDF/output within 48h of one-shot purchase, or you can't access Pro/Career features within 24h of subscription payment.
- Confirmed bug on our side that made the service unusable (e.g. generation error, corrupted output, access denied).
- Fraudulent order: someone placed an order on your payment method (we open investigation with Stripe).
For these cases, no need to invoke withdrawal — just email support with details.
4. How to request a refund
Email [email protected] including:
- Order number (format
tg_in_xxxxx, from Account → Billing → Invoices) - Reason for the request (one of the cases in §3, or §2 Phase 1)
- TalentyGo account email (to match consent audit log)
Our team responds within 24-48 business hours. If the refund is approved:
- The refund instruction is sent to Stripe within 5 business days of confirmation
- Credit back to your card depends on your issuing bank (typically 7-10 additional business days)
- You'll receive a TalentyGo confirmation email + Stripe refund receipt
5. Discount codes and Founding Members
- The 14-day withdrawal right (§2 Phase 1) applies to the actually paid price (discounted), not list price
- Founding Members benefits (lifetime discount) lapse upon cancellation, per Founding Members Terms
- No retroactive partial refunds for price differences (e.g. you bought Pro at full price, then a promo launched)
6. Legal references
Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act (ROSCA), 15 USC § 8403 — requires express informed consent for online recurring charges, clear and conspicuous disclosure of material terms, and simple cancellation mechanism.
California Automatic Renewal Law (ARL), Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 17602 — requires unchecked affirmative consent to renewal terms, clear and conspicuous pre-purchase disclosure, same-medium cancellation, and 3-year consent record retention.
FTC Act § 5 — prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in commerce.
Italian Consumer Code (D.Lgs 206/2005) Art. 52 — 14-day right of withdrawal for B2C distance contracts.
Italian Consumer Code Art. 59 lit. o — exception to withdrawal right for digital content supplied on non-material medium, when execution starts with express consumer consent and acknowledgment of withdrawal rights waiver.
EU Directive 2011/83 on consumer rights — implemented in Italy by D.Lgs 21/2014 amending the Consumer Code.
7. US-specific — CCPA / state privacy laws
Refund requests do not affect your privacy rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (§1798.105 right to delete) and equivalent state laws (VCDPA, CPA, CTDPA, UCPA). You can independently request data deletion from /account → Delete account at any time, regardless of refund status.
Pursuant to CCPA §1798.125, we do not discriminate against users who exercise refund or privacy rights. Service quality, pricing, and access remain identical.
