Description

A well-know fashion brand is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accessories Technical Designer to support the development of bags and socks from concept through production. This role is responsible for translating design intent into clear technical packages, ensuring fit, construction, quality, and functionality meet brand standards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a sharp eye for aesthetics, materials, and performance-driven product execution. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain detailed technical packages for bags and socks, including construction details, measurements, specs, grading, BOMs, callouts, and packaging requirements. Partner closely with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, and Production teams to interpret design concepts and bring product to life accurately. Review prototypes, salesman samples, and production samples for workmanship, construction, fit, function, and overall execution. Establish and manage measurement standards, fit standards, and construction guidelines for accessories categories. Provide clear comments to vendors on sample revisions, spec corrections, construction updates, and quality improvements. Track product development from initial concept through final approval, ensuring deadlines and key milestones are met. Evaluate materials, trims, hardware, closures, and stitching techniques to ensure durability, performance, and cost efficiency. Troubleshoot technical and production issues, offering practical solutions that preserve design intent while supporting manufacturability. Ensure consistency across seasonal assortments by maintaining technical standards, block libraries, and category best practices. Support wear testing, wash testing, and performance validation as needed for socks and functional accessories. Communicate daily with overseas and domestic vendors to address questions, approvals, and development updates. Assist with quality assurance processes to ensure products meet brand, customer, and compliance requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Product Development, or related field preferred. 3+ years of technical design experience in accessories, with direct experience in bags, socks, or related categories. Strong knowledge of accessory construction, materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes. Ability to create precise specs, technical flats, and construction details. Experience reviewing samples and communicating fit/construction comments to vendors. Strong understanding of textiles, yarns, knit structures, trims, and performance materials. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, Excel, and other technical development tools. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple seasons and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork. Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and sense of urgency. Preferred Qualifications Experience in lifestyle, athletic, performance, or premium accessories categories. Knowledge of sock fit, compression, cushioning, yarn functionality, and knit engineering is a plus. Experience with bag construction including patterning, compartments, closures, straps, and hardware placement. Familiarity with factory communication, compliance requirements, and production approvals.
