This is a full-time, hybrid Director of Business Development role based in Whittier, CA, with flexibility for partial work from home.
The Director of Business Development will lead the development and execution of growth strategies across residential, commercial, multifamily, and institutional segments. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, managing a robust sales pipeline, and overseeing lead generation activities. The role will drive relationship-building with key decision-makers, prepare and deliver proposals, lead contract negotiations, and ensure smooth handoff to operations and project teams.
In addition to individual business development responsibilities, the Director will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and managing the sales team, establishing performance goals, accountability standards, and scalable sales processes that drive consistent revenue growth. This individual will play a critical role in developing and executing sales strategies, tracking key performance metrics, and fostering a high-performance culture focused on sustainable growth and client satisfaction.
The Director will work directly with the CEO and ownership team on business planning, revenue forecasting, market analysis, strategic partnerships, and company-wide growth initiatives. This position serves as a key member of the leadership team and will help shape the company's long-term market expansion and revenue objectives.
Compensation
Base Salary: $95,000 – $125,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Commission: 3% – 8% on sales, based on performance and revenue targets
Additional compensation and incentive opportunities may be available for exceptional performance
Qualifications
Demonstrated strength in New Business Development and Lead Generation, including prospecting, qualifying opportunities, and building a consistent pipeline.
Experience in Business Planning, including sales forecasting, territory planning, and market or segment strategy development.
Proven ability in Contract Negotiation, with experience structuring agreements that balance client needs and company objectives.
Account Management skills, including relationship development, ongoing client communication, and growth of existing accounts.
Prior experience in construction, roofing, building envelope, restoration, or related industries strongly preferred.
Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to present solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience leading, coaching, and developing sales professionals, with a track record of building high-performing teams and driving revenue growth.
Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and contribute to company-wide strategic initiatives.
Comfort working in a hybrid environment, visiting client sites and project locations across Southern California as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently while aligning with company objectives and ownership vision.
