<p data-renderer-start-pos="139" data-local-id="d32e36bc70fd">We're looking for a <strong data-renderer-mark="true">Staff Product Designer </strong>to shape the next generation of Datadog Metrics—a foundational product that powers a range of core Datadog products from Dashboards to Infrastructure to Real User Monitoring. You'll lead design across the workflows customers use to see where their metrics come from, investigate cost and cardinality, and govern their telemetry at scale.</p> <p data-renderer-start-pos="521" data-local-id="9ac54b176c69">This role sits at the heart of a deeply technical platform. You'll partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and designers across many of the teams that emit, consume, or depend on metrics. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.</em></p> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1125" data-local-id="5064cf8cef02">&nbsp;</p> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1127" data-local-id="99eb5a8695f7"><strong data-renderer-mark="true">What You’ll Do:</strong></p> <ul class="ak-ul" data-local-id="cc1ad91d02d1" data-indent-level="1"> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1146" data-local-id="9841560d1faf">Lead the most ambiguous, 0-to-1 problems in the Metrics space — framing the problem, shipping early bets, and shaping new product surfaces from concept through launch</p> </li> </ul> <ul class="ak-ul" data-local-id="16e93968285a" data-indent-level="1"> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1318" data-local-id="33f910ad3c09">Partner with engineering and product on deeply technical subject matter and translate that complexity into simple experiences that hold up across our diverse customers</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1489" data-local-id="b75e8701f04c">Design, prototype, and validate flows that scale across many variations of one user journey, accounting for how customers of vastly different sizes and tech stacks experience the product.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1680" data-local-id="f5489a4e6f93">Communicate your design work and support for your design decisions internally to your product teams, leadership, and the broader design organization</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1832" data-local-id="851d93b809a1">Take a strategic role in shaping the direction of Metrics, advocating for design as a multiplier of engineering velocity and organizational alignment</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1985" data-local-id="fcfaca3febfb">Advocate for systems thinking and champion design quality across the organization</p> </li> </ul> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2070" data-local-id="9e4656bee5e2">&nbsp;</p> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2072" data-local-id="501549c94df9"><strong data-renderer-mark="true">Who You Are:</strong></p> <ul class="ak-ul" data-local-id="1b80bb0a98c0" data-indent-level="1"> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2088" data-local-id="ad2bae08c0de">You have 10+ years of experience in product design</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2142" data-local-id="010cbf60f011">Your portfolio includes a proven track record of leading end-to-end design on ambiguous, technically deep problems, with clear evidence of decisions grounded in user data.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2317" data-local-id="9f225cf53a70">You're fluent in the technical subject matter your product depends on — comfortable reasoning about data structures, system architectures, and the tradeoffs that come with scale — and you can collaborate as a peer with engineering on those tradeoffs.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2571" data-local-id="9c4c1269ee73">You are an excellent visual and written communicator, able to clearly communicate your design work and the support for your design decisions</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2715" data-local-id="36de3f1d6e8d">You have experience with advanced prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Cursor, Claude Code, etc)</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2809" data-local-id="3b14f1c3e412">You understand systems thinking and how to design flows that scale across many variations and edge cases.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2918" data-local-id="f78ab55df2b6">You give and receive feedback well, supporting and improving the work of your colleagues as well as your own</p> </li> </ul> <p data-renderer-start-pos="3030" data-local-id="92e08486c67f">&nbsp;</p> <p data-renderer-start-pos="3032" data-local-id="c7445929b774"><em data-renderer-mark="true">Datadog values people from all walks of life.
