Description
The Role
Deploying the infrastructure our compute runs on is one of the most important missions at Lyceum. This role secures that infrastructure and brings it online – from the data center it lives in to the GPU clusters that power everything we do.
You will map the European data center landscape, assess which sites are available and which are genuinely worth pursuing on both commercial and technical grounds, and take ownership of deployment: the hands-on work of designing, procuring, and bringing GPU clusters online on site. The role spans sourcing, negotiation, cluster design, procurement, and technical execution, with end-to-end ownership across all of them. Successful candidates rely less on detailed knowledge of specifications than on sound judgment, persistence, and the ability to work effectively with both the providers who control the space and the engineers who rely on it.
What You'll Own
Site sourcing and evaluation. Identify and assess data center capacity across Europe, determining which sites are available and worth pursuing on both commercial and technical grounds.
Cluster design and procurement. Translate compute requirements into concrete cluster designs, and own the procurement of the hardware needed to bring them to life.
Deployment ownership. Lead the technical execution of installing and bringing clusters online within the data center, end to end.
Market mapping and relationships. Build and maintain relationships across data center providers and the wider hardware and infrastructure ecosystem, and keep a current, reliable view of available capacity across the market.
Cross-functional alignment. Translate cluster requirements into site and provider decisions, and hold delivery to the agreed plan.
What We're Looking For
A technical foundation. You've brought a cluster online before, ideally supported by an engineering background (civil, structural, or similar) and several years of relevant professional experience.
Exceptional ownership. You take responsibility for outcomes and see them through to completion.
Strong interpersonal skills. The role is highly relationship-driven – across providers, vendors, and internal teams – and depends on your ability to build trust and work well with others.
Fluency across technical and commercial domains. You can assess a site's engineering realities and evaluate the commercial merits of a deal, moving comfortably between the two.
An established network on the hardware and data center side of the industry (not a must).
