View all jobs Software Engineer 3 - (JAVA, JMS, AWS) Fort Meade, Maryland Computer/Software Software Engineer 3 - (JAVA, JMS, AWS) Clearance: TS/SCI - Polygraph required Position ID: 15-TSK-2.22-000-SWE3 Location: Fort Meade, Maryland Description The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components. Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements Work individually or as part of a team Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and document test results Resolve software problem reports Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment Provide specific input to the software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components Mentor other Software Developers Work with Systems Engineers for JAVA ticketing Recommend and implement a testing solution to cover multiple test cases (unit, component, end to end) Implement C4 modeling (c4model.com) for visualizing Software Architecture Position Required Skills Use JAVA and JMS to implement Business Logic Customize COTS products to meet Federal Data Guidelines and implement access controls Familiarity with Containerization and Software Architecture Familiarity with Data modeling Mentor other Software Developers Work with Systems Engineers for JAVA ticketing Familiarity with Application performance monitoring (APM) Experience with AWS Work using communications protocols to interface with COTS tools Recommend and implement a testing solution to cover multiple test cases (unit, component, end to end) Implement C4 modeling (c4model.com) for visualizing Software Architecture SWE3 Qualifications Ten (10) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Salary Range: **$257k-$315k (Annually) The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
