About The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and managing quality assurance processes for our scalable and configurable software systems and services at zyBooks. Working closely with product engineering teams, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality web-based educational platforms and tools used by hundreds of thousands of students globally. Your expertise in web and server-side technologies, cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and databases will be crucial in maintaining the integrity, performance, and accessibility of our products. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful educational solutions in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Qualifications Experience testing applications built with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles Proficiency with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar tools Strong scripting skills in Python, JavaScript, or equivalent languages for developing automated tests Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and integrating automated tests into DevOps pipelines Knowledge of SQL databases, especially MySQL, for data validation and backend testing Understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and related testing strategies Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG and testing for accessibility compliance Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for enterprise applications using Ember and React frameworks Verify and validate features based on wireframes and design specifications to ensure alignment with requirements Test reusable UI components with a focus on scalability, extensibility, supportability, and accessibility Perform backend testing to validate data integrity using database technologies such as MySQL and Redshift Develop and implement test strategies for distributed systems and cloud-native applications Integrate automated tests within DevOps workflows and manage them through CI/CD pipelines Collaborate with product managers, developers, and designers to deliver high-quality educational technology solutions Identify, document, and track bugs and issues, and verify fixes to ensure product stability Maintain and update testing documentation, scripts, and reports to support continuous improvement Benefits Competitive salary range between 71,600 USD and 97,800 USD Remote work flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere in the USA Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans Generous paid time off and holiday leave Professional development opportunities and ongoing training Inclusive and collaborative work environment Access to cutting-edge educational technology and tools Equal Opportunity Wiley is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
