Principal Data Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Data Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a Media environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $160,000 – $200,000 annually Responsibilities Design and build scalable data pipelines from diverse sources and streams Understand and apply machine learning best practices and algorithms Implement optimized design patterns for performance and user experience Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data requirements Interface with technology teams to extract and transform data using cloud principles Coach others in building scalable data pipelines based on engineering principles Develop automated tests and ensure compatibility with multiple systems Qualifications 13+ years of experience in a data engineering role, leading teams in the field Ability to critically analyze problems and devise effective solutions Experience designing and deploying large-scale AI systems Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system architecture Proven track record in agile development environments with adaptability to feedback Knowledge of REST-based APIs and AI workload components like vectorized embeddings Deep experience in data modeling, ETL/ELT, and cloud data warehousing Benefits Fully remote work opportunity Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage 401(k) retirement plan option Paid leave for work-life balance Tuition reimbursement for further education Access to various employee discounts and perks Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
