Description
For our client, we are seeking a AI Principal Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a regulated financial services environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $250,300 – $289,000 annually
Responsibilities
Lead development and implementation of AI/ML platforms
Design architecture for AI/ML infrastructure and services
Drive continuous improvement and challenge established technical solutions
Guide teams in utilizing AI technologies for productivity
Collaborate with senior engineers to address business needs
Ensure security and compliance in data handling
Manage and execute project roadmaps and commitments
Qualifications
15-20 years of software design and development experience at large scale
Strong programming skills, especially in Java and Python
Good experience with machine learning models; reinforcement learning experience preferred
Broad understanding of distributed computing frameworks like Ray and Spark
Deep technical expertise in CI/CD automation and big data platforms
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; higher degree a plus
