Our teams collectively own the path from commit to production — scalable CI and build infrastructure, the platform that moves code safely to production, and the test infrastructure that gives engineers fast, trustworthy signals. We're hiring Senior Software Engineers across several teams in the group, and you'll be matched to the one that best fits your strengths and interests. Wherever you land, you'll design and operate foundational platform services used by all of Coinbase engineering, where a single improvement in build speed, deploy safety, or test reliability compounds across thousands of engineers. This is high-leverage, deep systems work at a financial-grade reliability and security bar.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design, build, and operate core developer-infrastructure services — spanning CI and build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure — that are fast, reliable, and secure by default at Coinbase scale.</li> <li>Drive measurable improvements to the metrics every engineer feels: build and CI wall time, deploy speed and safety, and test feedback time and flakiness.</li> <li>Own your services end to end, including SLOs, observability, and on-call.</li> <li>Partner closely with engineering teams across Coinbase (your customers) to understand pain points and turn them into platform improvements.</li> <li>Lead technical design for ambitious, cross-cutting projects and see them through to production.</li> <li>Act as a force multiplier by mentoring engineers and shaping the technical direction of the platform.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years building and operating production software, with strong fundamentals in distributed systems and a primary language like Go (or similar).</li> <li>A track record of shipping high-impact backend or platform systems that other engineers or services depend on, with strong ownership from design through production.</li> <li>Strong operational instincts — you care about reliability, security, and observability, and you build for production from day one.</li> <li>Clear communication and the ability to drive projects independently and collaborate across teams.</li> <li>A customer-focused mindset: you measure success by the impact your systems have on other engineers.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Nice to haves:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Direct experience in a developer infrastructure or platform domain: CI/CD, build systems, deployment/release tooling, test infrastructure, or developer productivity engineering.</li> <li>Experience operating at scale with Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and containers (Docker/OCI).</li> <li>Domain specific depth such as Bazel/Buck-style build systems and remote execution, progressive delivery (e.g.canary/rollback), or test selection, sharding, and flaky-test detection.</li> <li>Experience with observability and performance tooling (e.g., Datadog) to measure and improve system behavior.</li> <li>Curiosity about crypto/web3 and a desire to learn the domain (deep prior knowledge not required); experience in a regulated or security-sensitive environment is a plus.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>PID#P76992</p> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td>&nbsp;</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p><br><br></p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p><strong>Pay Transparency Notice:</strong><strong><em> </em></strong>Base salary varies by location (see range below).
