About The Role The Senior Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems that support analytic missions critical to national security. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with other senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative data analytics solutions within an agile development environment. The position involves providing technical leadership, guiding best practices, and ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through rigorous testing and validation processes. The successful candidate will contribute to high-visibility projects that require a deep understanding of full-stack development, including front-end and back-end technologies, and will play a key role in supporting mission objectives by delivering scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions. Qualifications The ideal candidate must possess an active Top Secret clearance with polygraph, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work involved. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a proven track record working on programs of similar scope, complexity, and contractual requirements, is required. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution are preferred; however, those with four (4) additional years of relevant SWE experience (totaling 11 years) on comparable projects can substitute for a formal degree. Expertise in full-stack development, including proficiency with JavaScript, React, and MongoDB, is essential. Prior experience in analytic environments and working within production systems is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, along with programming expertise in Java, will be critical to success in this role. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex software solutions supporting analytic missions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, system engineers, and mission analysts, to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with mission objectives. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, promoting best practices in software engineering and agile methodologies. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, and deployment. Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure applications using full-stack technologies such as JavaScript, React, and MongoDB. Ensure software quality through rigorous testing, validation, and adherence to company and industry standards. Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes to streamline delivery pipelines. Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, ensuring system stability and performance. Maintain comprehensive documentation of software architecture, code, and testing procedures.
