The Director of Village Babies Development Center reports directly to the Owner and is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and daily operations of the center. This role ensures compliance with all NJ state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, educational quality expectations, and organizational policies while fostering a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment for children, families, and staff. Responsibilities: • Oversee the daily operations of the early education facility, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. • Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures in alignment with state licensing regulations and VBDC standards. • Maintain compliance with all NJ Department of Children & Families Office of Licensing requirements • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and retain qualified teaching and support staff. • Supervise staff performance through regular observations, evaluations, coaching, and professional development planning. • Ensure staffing ratios and classroom coverage meet licensing and accreditation standards at all times. • Manage scheduling, attendance, payroll coordination, and employee accountability. • Monitor classroom environments for instructional quality, health, safety, and developmental appropriateness. • Support teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and child assessment practices. • Address parent concerns professionally and promptly while maintaining confidentiality and compliance. Education & Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration, Child Development, or related field required, Master’s Degree preferred. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education. • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or administrative experience in a licensed childcare center or early education setting. • Experience with state licensing compliance and staff supervision required • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
