Role Description The Global Director of Financial Operations is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the financial operations across Great Lakes Asset Management Inc.’s global portfolio. This role manages day-to-day financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial controls across operating businesses and property assets. The Director will lead and develop a distributed operations and finance team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, standardized procedures, and compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies. Daily responsibilities include analyzing financial performance, identifying operational efficiencies, partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve issues, and improving systems and workflows. The role also involves collaborating with investment, asset management, and customer-facing teams to support high-quality service delivery to investors, partners, and other stakeholders. Qualifications Strong operations management experience, with a proven ability to design, implement, and optimize financial operations across multiple entities or jurisdictions. Advanced analytical skills and financial modeling capabilities, including experience with forecasting, variance analysis, and data-driven decision-making. Team management and leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and effective collaboration in a remote, cross-functional environment. Expertise in budgeting and financial planning processes, including building and managing complex budgets for operating businesses and property assets. Customer service orientation, with the ability to support internal and external stakeholders, including investors, partners, and internal business units. Experience in asset management, private equity, real estate, or alternative investments is highly beneficial. Proficiency with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and spreadsheet software; comfort working with technology-driven workflows and automation. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, MBA) is preferred. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, global, remote environment.
