Construction Manager – Solar EPC

Department: Construction Location: Hershey Office Description We are seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the successful execution of community-scale solar construction projects. This role will lead field operations, coordinate project execution, and work closely with Project Managers, field teams, customers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities Lead Solar Construction Projects • Oversee day-to-day field operations for community-scale solar projects from mobilization through commissioning • Manage one or multiple active construction projects depending on size and complexity • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements • Monitor project progress and proactively address field challenges that may impact execution • Coordinate project activities with Project Managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel Drive Safety, Quality & Performance • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project sites • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards • Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits to verify quality and progress • Oversee quality assurance and quality control efforts to ensure work meets engineering specifications and project requirements • Identify and resolve field issues before they impact project schedules or budgets Manage Teams & Field Operations • Provide leadership, direction, and support to Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and field crews • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing field personnel • Foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across project teams • Maintain a strong field presence to support execution and build relationships with project stakeholders Partner with Customers & Stakeholders • Serve as a primary field representative for customers, landowners, utilities, inspectors, and local authorities • Provide regular updates regarding project progress, milestones, and construction activities • Build strong relationships through responsive communication and professional project execution • Support customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships through exceptional service and project delivery Support Scheduling & Budget Management • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and maintain construction schedules • Monitor labor productivity, project costs, and resource allocation • Assist with subcontractor management, change orders, and field-related budget considerations • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to support successful outcomes Improve Processes & Operational Excellence • Contribute to the development and improvement of field procedures, standards, and best practices • Support initiatives that improve safety, efficiency, scalability, and overall project performance • Share lessons learned and field insights to strengthen future project execution Requirements Required Qualifications • 2–5 years of construction management experience, preferably within solar, renewable energy, utility, civil, or industrial construction • Education may be substituted for relevant experience • Proven experience managing construction schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operations • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project execution practices • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively in a fast-paced environment • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills • Ability to work directly with customers, contractors, and external stakeholders in a professional and solutions-focused manner • Ability to travel to project sites as needed Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting community-scale solar projects (500 kW – 10 MW) • Knowledge of solar construction methods and renewable energy systems • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and construction quality programs • Experience with project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera • Experience with construction reporting, forecasting, and project controls Benefits • Paid Holidays • Medical / Dental / Vision coverage • Health savings account (HSA) • Company Paid Life Insurance and Accidental & Dismemberment Insurance • Voluntary Life Insurance • 401k with a company match • Paid Time Off • Employee Assistance Program • Professional Development Programs • Employee Referral Programs • Voluntary Benefits Offered #INDHP
