We are responsible for the accurate and timely recording of all business-generated transactions on our balance sheet and income statement. We operate in a fast-paced environment and collaborate significantly with cross-functional and international teams.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do</strong></p> <p>Stripe is seeking an experienced&nbsp; accounting data analyst to join its world class Accounting team and help us scale for the future, in a fast-paced environment that’s growing rapidly. A member of the Accounting Data Analyst team will support the processing and reporting of our global financial results.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Enable timely financial close and margin analysis through data analytics and visualization</li> <li>Wrangle large, highly complex datasets into actionable insights and become the data expert for gross margin accounting. Perform analysis, identify trends, conduct research, and build visualizations to deliver objective, critical insights that fulfill accounting and finance stakeholders’ needs&nbsp;</li> <li>Implement anomaly detection of automated accounting activity to identify potential misstatements in financial results&nbsp;</li> <li>Drive cross-functional projects, primarily partnering with FP&amp;A, Financial Systems, and Product Engineers, to identify opportunities to help our stakeholders operate more efficiently and effectively</li> <li>Work independently to investigate the root cause of system breakages and drive both short and long-term resolution&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop testing strategies and build population to satisfy analytic-based audit needs&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who you are:</strong></p> <p>We’re looking for someone with a strong Accounting background as well as experience in data analysis, as described further below. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.</p> <p><strong>Minimum requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5-7+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience</li> <li>B.A. or B.S degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred) OR CA qualified</li> <li>Fluency in U.S. GAAP</li> <li>Strong knowledge of Excel and experience working with large amounts of data, often coming from multiple sources</li> <li>Intermediate or advanced SQL proficiency&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders</li> <li>Self-motivated individual with a demonstrated history of taking on various types of challenging projects and producing results, with excellent attention to detail</li> <li>Solution-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for establishing best practices, and challenging existing processes to identify improvement opportunities</li> <li>Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey financial concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of (or experience in) the technology or payments industry.</li> <li>Experience working in an automated accounting environment</li> <li>Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, or other visualization tools&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><br><br></p>
