Job Type: Contract to Hire
Pay rate:
Starting at $28/hour (higher based on experience)
We are hiring a skilled Machinist for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a well-established fabrication and machine shop. This role offers hands‑on work with CNC milling, turning, and precision component manufacturing in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform complete setups for multi‑axis CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and machining instructions
• Machine precision components to tight tolerances (± .002")
• Inspect finished parts using standard measuring tools and procedures
• Maintain production schedules with minimal supervision
• Edit and create CNC programs to support production
• Develop and improve fixturing and setups for repeat production
• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues independently
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years of CNC programming experience
• 4–5 years of fixturing and setup experience
• Experience with Solid Works CAM Pro
• Strong knowledge of tooling, feeds/speeds, and machining practices
• Experience working with aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel
Additional Skills
• Experience with lathe work, drilling, grinding, milling, and hand tools
• Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to collaborate with production teams on tooling and process improvements
