About The Company Disney Experiences, a division of The Walt Disney Company, is dedicated to creating immersive and memorable entertainment experiences for audiences worldwide. With a rich legacy rooted in storytelling, innovation, and excellence, Disney Experiences encompasses a wide array of ventures including theme parks, resorts, and digital entertainment platforms. The company is committed to delivering high-quality content and engaging experiences that resonate with diverse audiences, fostering creativity, and maintaining its position as a global leader in entertainment and hospitality. As part of Disney's broader ecosystem, Disney Experiences upholds the values of inclusivity, innovation, and storytelling excellence, consistently pushing the boundaries of immersive entertainment. About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Game Designer to join Disney Experiences within the Disney Games Group. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal part in overseeing and collaborating on multiple game projects that leverage 20th Century's iconic properties. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that these projects align with the overarching brand vision and quality standards of 20th Century Games. Unlike traditional game development roles that focus on hands-on engine work, this position emphasizes reviewing, providing feedback, and collaborating with various game studios and project teams to bring high-quality, brand-consistent games to life. You will serve as a key communication bridge between creative leads, project managers, and external partners, ensuring that each project meets its milestones and maintains the integrity of Disney’s beloved IPs. Qualifications Successful candidates will possess a minimum of five years of experience in game design or game development, with a proven track record of completing at least two full project cycles. Expertise in at least two of the following design disciplines is essential: combat design, level design, systems design, progression design, area design, quest or mission design, technical gameplay design, encounter design, or UI/UX design. Candidates should have a working knowledge of industry-standard game engines such as Unreal or Unity, and familiarity with proprietary tools is a plus. Experience working across various game genres, gameplay modes, and styles is highly desirable. Additionally, the role requires the ability to travel domestically, with valid identification necessary for travel purposes. A bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in the gaming industry is preferred. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with the Creative Lead to review and provide constructive feedback on gameplay mechanics, systems, assets, and documentation from partner studios, ensuring alignment with brand and quality standards. Participate in review sessions, approval processes, and communication pipelines to facilitate smooth project progression through milestones and gates. Maintain consistent communication with game studios, conveying feedback and guidance throughout all development phases to uphold project and gameplay pillars, identity, and conventions. Assist studios in preserving the integrity of the brand and elevating the gaming portfolio by ensuring projects adhere to established conventions and benchmarks. Serve as a reliable source of information regarding brand and gameplay standards, supporting external and internal teams. Attend regular meetings with game directors, creative leads, gameplay leads, and staff to coordinate project progress and address challenges. Support the product manager in managing submission workflows, deadlines, and team responses to milestones and project updates. Develop and communicate internal standards for gameplay systems, features, and assets to ensure consistency across projects. Stay current with industry trends, standards, and skillsets relevant to the projects on Disney’s slate, continuously enhancing your expertise. Benefits Disney offers a comprehensive rewards package designed to support your professional growth and personal well-being. Benefits include competitive health and savings plans, educational opportunities, and exclusive perks that only Disney can provide. We are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and creativity. Additional benefits may include retirement plans, paid time off, employee discounts, and access to various wellness programs. Our aim is to help you live your best life both inside and outside of work, supporting your career development and personal aspirations. Equal Opportunity Disney Experiences is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status. We believe that a diverse workforce fosters innovation and creativity, and we are dedicated to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified candidates.
