Experience #LifeatRealChem.</p></div><h1>Senior Medical Writer&nbsp;</h1> <h2>Role Purpose</h2> <p>Our <strong>SMWs</strong> are responsible for driving day-to-day project delivery (with support from others) within an account in order to create outstanding medical content across a variety of therapy areas. This position is ideal for an experienced writer who has a passion for scientific and medical developments, a keen interest in AI, and who enjoys tackling new problems, interacting with clients, and mentoring internal team members.</p> <h2>Key Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Scientific knowledge:</strong> <ul> <li>Confidently steps into new therapeutic areas</li> <li>Starting to lead discussions with clients and external experts on therapy area, drivers which influence treatment decision-making and patient pathways</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Strategic knowledge:</strong> Helps to lead meetings and strategic discussions with clients</li> <li><strong>AI</strong> <ul> <li>Proactively utilizes a broad range of AI solutions to streamline complex projects, with support from others</li> <li>Evaluates and implements AI-driven solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of projects, identifying opportunities for improvement and collaborating with team members to optimize project delivery</li> <li>Provides guidance and training to team members on best practice</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Project ownership:</strong> <ul> <li>Leads content delivery for complex projects with supervision from senior team, delegating to AMW/MWs as needed and where appropriate to ensure timely execution to a high standard</li> <li>Skilled in achieving communications objectives by employing a broad range of channels and formats</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Project development: </strong> <ul> <li>Interrogates briefs from clients/internal teams and proactively flags any queries or potential issues</li> <li>Applies critical thinking skills towards a project brief to achieve deliverables in a timely and efficient manner</li> <li>Provides a proactive, solution-focused approach towards resolving queries, and addressing feedback</li> <li>Initiates discussions with Account Teams regarding potential barriers to successful project completion that may arise</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Editorial:</strong> <ul> <li>Develops compelling narratives from complex information</li> <li>Structures and writes novel projects that may not have been executed previously</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Quality control:</strong> <ul> <li>Takes responsibility for overall quality of deliverables with supervision from senior team</li> <li>Reviews JMWs’ work for adherence to brief, client objectives and quality of writing, providing constructive feedback</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>On site: </strong>Leads elements of the on-site programme across a variety of events with support from others</li> <li><strong>Client liaison: </strong>Leads scientific discussion with clients and external experts as appropriate to capture briefs, resolve queries, and progress scientific content development in timely and efficient manner</li> <li><strong>Growth and new business</strong> <ul> <li>Supports development of scientific content for new therapeutic areas for new business</li> <li>Proactively identifies new business opportunities with new and existing clients</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Project management: </strong>Provides timely and accurate communication to accounts team on writer hours, and project progress</li> <li><strong>Teamwork</strong>: Trains/mentors junior writers on account-specific therapy area knowledge and processes</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications and skills</h2> <ul> <li>You should bring a strong scientific background with a degree in a scientific or medical discipline (post-graduate degree preferred). A high level of academic achievement is expected</li> <li>You should bring previous experience of medical writing at an MW level or above</li> <li>A passion for, and profound understanding of, healthcare, science, medicine, and the pharmaceutical industry is essential, as well as a keen interest in AI technologies</li> <li>You’ll need to be personable, articulate, and capable of nurturing relationships.
