Description

ABOUT BASETEN

Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $300M Series E, backed by investors including BOND, IVP, Spark Capital, Greylock, and Conviction. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to to ship AI products.

THE ROLE

The GTM tooling landscape is changing fast and the teams that win are the ones that adapt and iterate the fastest. This role exists to make sure Baseten is one of them.

You'll design, build, and ship AI-powered workflows that scale our sales, marketing, and support functions as a competitive advantage. We have a sprawling stack with real redundancy, real gaps, and real opportunity — and we want someone who can walk in, audit what we have, identify what we're missing, and start shipping fast.

You know when to reach for Clay and when to build something custom in Claude Code. You think two to three steps ahead on how the thing you're building today fits into the broader systems architecture tomorrow. And you bring a point of view — on our stack, on what we should be building, and on where AI can do something that low-code tooling simply can't.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the CRM enrichment strategy — design and maintain the data foundation our GTM org runs on, spanning account and contact data quality, enrichment workflows, and data provider orchestration across our stack (Clay, Harmonic, Salesforce, and beyond)

  • Audit the stack and generate your own backlog — we have a lot of tools, some overlap, and real gaps. Walk in with a point of view, identify what's missing or broken, and prioritize accordingly — without waiting to be handed a roadmap

  • Ship rep productivity workflows fast — triage asks from the field, identify the low-hanging fruit, and build it. A good week looks like a VP of Sales asking for something Monday and having it live by Wednesday

  • Know when to go custom — not everything belongs in a point-and-click tool. You're comfortable spinning up bespoke AI-powered solutions in Claude Code or similar when the problem calls for it, and you make that call with judgment, not default

  • Think in systems, not solutions — every workflow you build has upstream and downstream implications. You anticipate them, design for them, and don't create technical debt that someone else has to unwind six months later

  • Integrate third-party APIs to sync events and information across disparate systems — ensuring data flows reliably between the tools your team depends on every day

  • Think long-term about stack consolidation — we have duplication and shadow IT across enrichment, routing, and engagement. Part of this role is helping us build toward a smaller, more intentional stack over time

  • Document what you build — if people can't find it, understand it, or trust it, it doesn't matter how well it works

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience in GTM Engineering, workflow automation, or a technical RevOps role — ideally at a high-growth, AI-native B2B company

  • Hands-on experience with Clay as a primary enrichment and workflow tool — you have opinions about how to use it well and you've pushed it to its limits

  • Direct experience with Salesforce — you know the data model, you've built on it, and you're comfortable owning CRM-level changes

  • Genuine fluency with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar) — you're actively building with these tools, not just experimenting with them

  • A track record of owning end-to-end AI and automation workflows, not just contributing to or consuming them

  • Proficiency with integration and automation platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make, Workato, or similar)

  • A fundamental understanding of APIs and webhooks to integrate third-party systems

  • Strong judgment on the build decision — you know when low-code gets you 80% of the way there and when it becomes the bottleneck, and you act accordingly

  • Experience in high-growth B2B technology companies

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

  • Familiarity with enrichment and data provider ecosystems beyond Clay — Harmonic, Parallel.ai, Lusha, Crunchbase, Pitchbook, ZoomInfo, or similar

  • Experience with engagement platforms (Outreach, Nooks, or similar) and how they connect to CRM and enrichment workflows

  • Familiarity with a data warehouse environment (BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.) and BI tools (Sigma, Hex, etc.) — not as a data engineer, but as a consumer and builder on top of the data layer

  • Experience building with agent platforms (Gumloop, n8n, Notion Agents, etc.) and/or agent frameworks (Vercel AI SDK, Claude Agent SDK, Mastra, etc.)

  • Experience with highly technical software sales cycles and complex GTM motions

  • An instinct for stack consolidation — you've inherited a messy tool environment before and helped bring it toward something more intentional without breaking what works

  • Systems thinker — you naturally break problems into composable parts, building solutions with separation of concerns so they're reusable, extensible, and easy to maintain

  • Comfortable with a little sprawl — you're not paralyzed by ambiguity or imperfect tooling. You know how to experiment, build fast, and clean up as you go

BENEFITS

  • Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity.

  • 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents

  • Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)

  • Paid parental leave

  • Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot
