About Us:
Impact Book Publishers is a growing publishing company dedicated to helping authors bring their stories to life. We publish a wide range of books, including children's books, fiction, and non-fiction. We are looking for a talented and creative Illustration Designer to join our team on a project-by-project basis to create visually engaging and beautiful artwork for our upcoming books.
Key Responsibilities:
Create high-quality, original digital illustrations for book covers and interior pages (including children's storybooks, fantasy, and concept art).
Collaborate with authors and project managers to understand the visual vision, style, and tone of each book.
Develop character designs, background layouts, and storyboards based on manuscript guidelines.
Ensure all files are delivered in the correct high-resolution digital formats (PSD, AI, TIFF, or PDF) ready for print and digital publishing (conforming to bleed and margin specifications).
Implement feedback and make necessary revisions professionally and within deadlines.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
A strong, diverse portfolio showcasing digital illustration skills (experience with children's books or fiction is highly preferred).
Proficiency in digital illustration tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, or similar software.
Strong understanding of color theory, composition, character design, and visual storytelling.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and authors.
Knowledge of book layout and print-on-demand formatting requirements is a plus.
