About the Opportunity There's a version of this job where you show up, maintain what exists, and call it a win. This isn't that job. The company is established — strong reputation, real market position, decades of history. The private equity backing is real, the growth targets are real, and the opportunity to actually build something across North America is real. What they need is someone who looks at all of that and gets energized, not comfortable. The situation This is a manufacturing operation in the Greater Portland area, part of a PE-backed platform with a sister facility. You'll report to the CEO at the sister facility, partner closely on strategy, and own the day-to-day. The business is positioned to grow. Whether it does depends largely on who sits in this seat. What you're here to do You'll own the full operation — strategy, execution, people, and P&L. In practice that looks like: • Setting the strategic direction for the facility and making sure the business has a plan worth following • Driving revenue through business development and the relationships that actually close deals • Running the supply chain, production, and quality side of the house at a level that keeps customers and doesn't bleed margin • Building and developing the management team — not just overseeing them, genuinely making them better • Presenting quarterly to the board and giving them something honest, not just polished • Finding the inefficiencies, fixing them, and building the culture that keeps finding the next ones Who you are You've run something before. A business, a division, a P&L — something where the buck actually stopped with you. You've done it in industrial or technical manufacturing, and you've done it for at least five years. You know the difference between managing a business and leading one. You've also competed against companies bigger than yours and figured out how to win anyway. That's not a small thing. It's actually most of the job. More specifically: • Proven track record as a CEO, President, COO, or GM with full P&L ownership • Strong mix of sales and operations experience — you can't be one-dimensional here • 5+ years in industrial or technical manufacturing • Entrepreneurial mindset — you build things, you don't just run them • Experience in a PE-backed environment and comfort presenting to a board preferred A bachelor's degree is expected. A master's is a plus. The honest part This is a hands-on role at a company that values leaders who are present, visible, and invested.
