Description

About the Team

At OpenAI, we believe artificial intelligence should benefit all of humanity — and that belief is nowhere more tangible than in the public sector. Governments serve people at scale, under real constraints, with high stakes and deep responsibility. The OpenAI for Government team exists to help public servants harness AI to reduce friction, increase impact, and spend more minutes on mission.

We partner with state, local, federal, and international governments to enable responsible, human-centered AI adoption — not just through technology, but through trust, education, community, and inspiration.

About the Role

We’re hiring an AI Adoption, Content, and Community Manager for Government Engagement & Enablement — a builder, connector, storyteller, and super-user who lives and breathes ChatGPT and deeply understands public service.

This role sits at the intersection of enablement, education, community, communications, and marketing. You will be the connective tissue between OpenAI and government practitioners around the world — helping them learn, share, teach, celebrate wins, and feel confident using AI in their day-to-day work. You will intrigue them with inspirational adoption, deployment and practical content that makes them want to be customers and you will create initiatives that make them glad to be customers.

You will be an AI adoption expert and enabler, the keeper of government-specific content (training, enablement, messaging), the architect of community experiences (events, cohorts, networks), and a trusted guide who helps public servants see what’s possible — while meeting them where they are.

If you love teaching people how to use ChatGPT, building communities, writing compelling & clear content, running great events, bringing order to chaos, and “giving away the win” so others shine — this role was written for you.

In this role, you will:

Design and deliver training & enablement

  • Lead hands-on trainings and workshops to help government users get confident with ChatGPT.

  • Develop lightweight, scalable learning experiences that reduce risk, set expectations, and inspire responsible use.

  • Help smaller government customers get onboard and drive their practical use of ChatGPT.

  • Continuously refine OpenAI for Governments customer-facing content based on feedback, usage patterns, and evolving customer needs.

  • Create operational cadences that include gathering customer feedback across OpenAI for Government to provide back to the product team and others about what we are hearing from our customer base.

  • You will capture all trainings and enablement sessions with customers and training feedback and will work with teams to identify where we need to pivot or hone our approaches.

  • You will serve as an in-house expert to government customers looking for expert insight and advice on creating great customer employee/workforce communications campaigns to drive ChatGPT confidence and use.

  • Be a point of escalation for customers having issues and getting them the support they need.

Build and steward the OpenAI for Government community

  • Design and grow communities of practice across state, local, federal, and international governments, including location, role-based and mission-based communities.

  • Create, contribute, and maintain OpenAI for Governments contributions to spaces (virtual and in-person) where public servants can learn from each other, share use cases, and feel supported on their AI journey.

  • Create delightful experiences and engagements for customers. You will actively match-make and draw insights from commercial, education and other practices and hone them for a government audience.

  • Act as a trusted, empathetic presence for government users — understanding their constraints, motivations, and missions.

  • Be the beating heart, the “Chief Encourager” to help make sure every public servant who engages OpenAI feels seen and appreciated.

Own government-specific content and messaging

  • Serve as the source of truth for maintaining government-focused content, including training materials, enablement guides, playbooks, FAQs, customer impact stories, and messaging. Constantly creating new content, looking for ways to make information more sticky, more dynamic, as well as more digestible and simple.

  • Translate complex AI concepts into clear, compelling, and accessible language for public servants at every level.

  • Write high-quality copy across formats: training content, event materials, emails, articles, social posts, community updates, case studies, speeches, presentations, and internal briefs, working as a POC with the GA, Communications, and Marketing teams as needed.

  • Support OpenAI for Government leaders with compelling presentations, videos, slides and other material to prepare them and deliver memorable moments.

  • Take materials created by others and help upgrade the design and aesthetic supporting the in-house design, brand, and resource teams as well as outside vendors.

Create standout events and experiences

  • Plan and execute government-focused events: workshops, listening tours, roundtables, panels, hackathons, community showcases, and more.

  • Partner with Customer Success, Sales, Product, GA, Readiness and Marketing to deliver cohesive, high-impact experiences.

  • Ensure every event leaves participants feeling smarter, more capable, and genuinely excited about what AI can do for their mission.

  • Create new and exciting SWAG, and other physical elements to ensure OAI leaves a lasting impression.

Champion adoption through inspiration

  • Highlight and celebrate government “wins,” champions, and creative uses of ChatGPT.

  • Build recognition mechanisms for government adoption of AI that rewards curiosity, experimentation, and impact.

  • Be a master at amplifying others — making customers and colleagues the heroes of the story.

  • Create and maintain the customer impact story repository, and feed impact stories through the OAI, including updating core materials with inspirational examples.

  • Record and help customers, colleagues, and OAI leaders record multi-media content including videos, podcast, and other record
