We work on some of the hardest technical, commercial, and regulatory problems around, and we’re looking for a product lawyer to join our team. In this role you will be a key advisor to Stripe’s product, engineering and partnerships teams, and will work on a diverse set of matters that straddle financial services, business processes, and technology.</p> <p>The ideal candidate is passionate about Stripe’s mission of helping businesses grow and thrive. Stripe operates within a complex and interwoven legal, regulatory, and financial partnership environment around the world.&nbsp;</p> <h2><strong>What you’ll do</strong></h2> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Counsel the global product team on a range of issues relating to the adoption of artificial intelligence in all facets of Stripe’s business. including data protection and privacy law, consumer protection, and product development.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Closely collaborate with teams across Stripe (including, engineering, partnerships, privacy and security teams) to deliver pragmatic and actionable legal advice to your clients on a range of issues related to the product development lifecycle - from initial scoping to launch</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Draft, review, and update internal and external-facing foundational terms and documents for Stripe’s products and service offerings</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Stay up-to-date (with the support of Stripe’s many legal subject matter experts) on laws and regulations dealing with consumer financial data access; analyze laws, regulatory updates, industry trends to proactively advise clients of potential product impacts </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Participate as a proactive business partner to your product team and build a trusted advisor relationship offering key legal and strategic business input in evolving Stripe and its product roadmap and strategy<br></span></li> </ul> <h2><strong>Who you are</strong></h2> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.</span></p> <h3><strong>Minimum requirements</strong></h3> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;">6+ years of demonstrated experience either as a qualified lawyer in a top law firm or in-house legal team working with technology companies (ideally the law that applies to cloud-based API service providers) on the legal and regulatory aspects of product development in the technology space</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Proficiency in, and passion for, working with technology and ability to understand complex operational and business models as well as multiple product use cases quickly</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">A self-starter and self-learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple work streams and priorities simultaneously and efficiently</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Someone with an ownership mentality that deals well with ambiguity, prides themselves on having excellent judgment and making decisions with limited information</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Strong communication and relational skills and can work well cross-functionally with a sense of urgency, while remaining highly collaborative and fun</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Excellent project management and organizational skills to stay on top of shifting priorities and thrives working under tight deadlines</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">A background in technology law, Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Strategic thinking to enable business partners to make decisions that are grounded in a practical application of the law, the technology, and the business goals.</li> </ul>
