Description

We are looking for experienced ADAS Function Application Engineers who can take technical ownership of ADAS functions from requirements and parameter definition through virtual validation, prototype vehicle testing, calibration and customer acceptance.

The work covers areas including Driving, Active Safety, Parking and Vision and requires regular hands-on work with development and prototype vehicles.

Locations: Prague, Czech Republic / Braunschweig / Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany. Candidates based in or around Stuttgart and Braunschweig are preferred.

Tasks

  • Take end-to-end application responsibility for assigned ADAS functions.
  • Analyze functional and performance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain function-specific application and tuning guidelines.
  • Identify, calibrate and maintain application parameters and datasets.
  • Perform bench and virtual validation before vehicle deployment.
  • Execute prototype vehicle application, calibration and tuning.
  • Plan and execute vehicle measurement and validation campaigns.
  • Analyze CAN/CAN-FD traces, diagnostics, measurements and functional deviations.
  • Investigate vehicle issues and perform structured root-cause analysis.
  • Support multiple SW releases and vehicle variants.
  • Explain parameter changes, tuning decisions and function behavior directly to customer engineering teams.
  • Support customer reviews, test drives and acceptance activities.
  • Participate in vehicle campaigns in Germany and potentially other international markets.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of automotive engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience with ADAS application, calibration, vehicle integration or function development.
  • Strong experience in at least one area:
    Driving / ACC / Travel Assist, Active Safety / AEB, Parking, or Vision.
  • Practical experience working directly with prototype or development vehicles.
  • Experience with CANape, CANoe, CANalyzer, INCA or comparable automotive tools.
  • Strong CAN/CAN-FD and automotive diagnostics knowledge.
  • Ability to independently perform vehicle measurements, analyze behavior and tune parameters.
  • Good English communication skills.
  • Valid driving licence and ability to obtain the required VW Group prototype/test-vehicle driving authorization.

Highly preferred

Existing valid VW Group prototype/test-vehicle driving authorization / prototype driving licence.

Candidates who already possess the required authorization to drive VW Group development/prototype vehicles will be strongly preferred, particularly for the Germany-based positions.
