That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.</p> <h2><strong>What you’ll do</strong></h2> <h3><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Architect, build, and maintain robust APIs, services, and systems across engineering teams using Ruby and Java;&nbsp;</li> <li>Act as a domain expert of the payments family of Stripe products, and in particular various payout methods and underlying rails used in US / UK;&nbsp;</li> <li>Build and enhance software infrastructure, encompassing the complete development lifecycle from coding to testing, deployment, debugging, and maintenance;&nbsp;</li> <li>Design software systems leveraging scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure design outcomes;&nbsp;</li> <li>Contribute to core interface design and write code;&nbsp;</li> <li>Serve as a role model for how great software should be written;&nbsp;</li> <li>Contribute code changes in every layer of the stack, from launching a net new payout method API to making a UI change in the Stripe Dashboard for the Stripe Connect product; Scope and lead technical projects, laying the groundwork for early-stage products to iteratively evolve and scale;&nbsp;</li> <li>Engineer payments integration with banking partners to launch new markets, payout methods, and capabilities, while ensuring reliability and scalability;&nbsp;</li> <li>Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large-scale;&nbsp;</li> <li>Design and implement secure systems for sensitive data storage;&nbsp;</li> <li>Work with engineers across the company to understand when existing infrastructure can be leveraged vs. when building a bespoke solution is necessary;&nbsp;</li> <li>Evaluate and make informed decisions about technology and architecture choices in developing payment products;&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop and execute short- and long-term roadmaps, making informed trade-offs to balance business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation;</li> <li>Ensure technical decisions align with broader strategic goals while addressing specific emerging business needs;&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation to ensure reliability; and</li> <li>Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota to manage and resolve production incidents affecting users.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Who you are</strong></h2> <h3><strong>Minimum requirements</strong></h3> <p>Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field followed by 2 years of experience in Software Development.</p> <p>Position also requires 2 years of experience with the following:</p> <ul> <li>Building software solutions in Python, Ruby, Java and Typescript languages;</li> <li>Designing, building and working with large user-facing APIs;</li> <li>Translating business needs into software requirements and designs;</li> <li>Debugging production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack;</li> <li>Designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high availability systems; and</li> <li>Designing and implementing secure systems for sensitive data storage.</li> </ul> <p>Salary: $156,800 - $235,200/yr.</p> <p>This salary range represents the base salary range for the role and any sales commissions/sales bonuses targets, if applicable, would be in addition to the base salary.</p> <p>40 hrs/week</p> <p>50% Telecommuting permitted.</p> <p>Multiple Positions Available.&nbsp;</p> <p>Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.<strong>CA47</strong></p> <h3><strong>#LI-DNI</strong></h3>
