The program inspires athletes and their teams to leverage their passion for sports to “Play4” loved ones affected by cancer and encourages them to actively fundraise for NFCR to make a difference. 100% of what teams fundraise through Play4TheCure is donated to cancer research. Inspired by Play4TheCure, Arts4TheCure is the official fine arts and performing arts fundraising platform of the National Foundation for Cancer Research. Learn more about Arts4TheCure at https://www.nfcr.org/get-involved/arts4thecure. We are looking for interns to aid in the success of NFCR’s digital marketing department and Play4TheCure/Arts4TheCure. This is a great opportunity for students to gain transferable experience and skills. We are able to sign off for community service hours or college credit hours if approved by your school. Interns will be required to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, both remote and in-office this summer. Hours are flexible and can be determined at the start of the internship. Summary: Communications and Digital Marketing Interns have the opportunity to grow communication, fundraising, and digital marketing skills while learning about nonprofit management. Interns will learn how to operate databases and websites. We encourage our interns to actively participate in our fundraising opportunities during and after their internships. Primary Responsibilities: · National Foundation for Cancer Research Digital Marketing. Interns will help to develop marketing content to support National Foundation for Cancer Research programs and fundraising initiatives. Interns will assist with social media, email campaigns, and other digital marketing tasks. · Play4TheCure and Arts4TheCure Marketing and Recruitment. Interns will assist with current and prospective outreach. Interns will find and collect information about recent Play4TheCure and Arts4TheCure events and write articles highlighting successful fundraising strategies. There is an opportunity for articles to be published on website and social media. Interns will have the ability to work on other projects including but not limited to, video editing, fundraising opportunities, and social media campaigns. · General Administrative Support. Interns will assist with phone calls, emails, mailings, and other administrative office duties (if and when we are allowed back in the office). Qualifications: · Currently enrolled in Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program, desirable. Ideal candidates will be seeking degrees in marketing, fundraising, communication, and/or non-profit management. Also open to high school students. · Ability to work cross-functionally with staff, volunteers, and program participants. · Commitment to the organization, attention to detail, highly efficient, and conscientious about thorough follow-up. · Skilled communicator with superior interpersonal, verbal, and written skills. · Ability to work under and comply with continuous and multiple deadlines and evolving priorities. Manage multiple projects simultaneously. · Excellent organizational and writing skills as well as diligent attention to detail. · Interest in non-profit function, fundraising, marketing, and/or development.
