Director of Contract Administration (In-House Counsel) | Leading Commercial Construction Organization We're seeking a Director of Contract Administration (In-House Counsel) to join a leading commercial construction company supporting high-profile projects across data centers, hospitals, stadiums, and other large-scale developments. This is a strategic leadership role reporting directly to the CEO and serving as the organization's primary legal and contract advisor. What You'll Do :Review, draft, and negotiate complex construction and commercial contract sAnalyze contract terms and identify legal, financial, and operational risk sAdvise executive leadership on payment terms, indemnification, liquidated damages, and other critical contract provision sPartner with project teams throughout the project lifecycle, from bid review through project closeou tSupport contract dispute resolution and collaborate with outside counsel when necessar yDevelop contract templates, processes, and best practices to strengthen risk managemen tProvide contract-related guidance and training to internal stakeholder sServe as a trusted legal advisor to executive leadership and business team s What You Brin g:Juris Doctor (JD) degr eeActive Bar license in Maryland or Virgin ia5–10+ years of legal experience with contract review, negotiation, and administrati onStrong contract drafting, analysis, and risk assessment capabiliti esAbility to work independently while delivering practical, business-focused legal advi ceAuthorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship requiremen ts Preferred Qualificatio ns:Experience in construction law or construction contract administrat ionBackground working with contractors, subcontractors, engineering firms, or construction organizati onsPrior in-house counsel experie nceFamiliarity with AIA, ConsensusDocs, and other industry-standard construction contract fo rmsExperience supporting public works or government-funded proje cts Top performers in this role are strategic thinkers, skilled negotiators, and trusted business partners who can balance legal risk with operational objectives while building strong relationships across the organizat ion. 📍 Location: Baltimore, Maryland 21227- onsite??
