Tech Lead / Chief Technology Officer (CTO) About the Company Pioneering financial technology (FinTech) company Industry Financial Services Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is in search of a Technical Lead / CTO to take the helm of its technology platform, which is focused on developing a permissioned digital asset lending and staking protocol for institutional participants. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full spectrum of technical leadership, from evolving the existing architecture to building and mentoring the internal engineering team. This hands-on role demands a leader who can oversee the entire technical stack, ensuring rigorous system design and data modeling, and is comfortable with the core infrastructure in place, including validator operations and an initial smart contract framework. Key responsibilities for the Technical Lead / CTO include financial system architecture, full-stack platform engineering, smart contract and protocol design, and engineering team leadership. The ideal candidate will have approximately 8+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, with a minimum of 2-4 years in a technical leadership capacity. Experience in financial services, fintech, or other correctness-critical environments is essential, as is professional experience with functional programming languages and hands-on development using TypeScript-based backend frameworks or Rust. While exposure to smart contracts, distributed ledgers, or blockchain systems is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement. The role requires a candidate with a strong system design background and an early-stage startup mindset, capable of operating in a fast-moving environment with high ownership.
