Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Software Engineer Intern role based in San Jose, CA, with flexibility for partial work from home. The intern will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of back-end services and APIs that power GenPark’s AI-driven marketing platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing features in collaboration with senior engineers, writing clean and testable code, and assisting with debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. The role also involves participating in code reviews, contributing to technical documentation, and working closely with product and data teams to translate product requirements into scalable software solutions. Interns will have opportunities to learn modern engineering practices, tools, and frameworks used in production systems.
Qualifications
Solid foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and basic software design principles.
Hands-on experience or coursework in Software Development and Programming, preferably using at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or similar).
Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and ability to apply them in practical coding tasks.
Exposure to Back-End Web Development concepts such as RESTful APIs, microservices, or server-side frameworks is preferred.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a diverse, cross-functional team environment.
Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), basic testing practices, and cloud or container technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Docker) is a plus.
