We are looking for an infrastructure and reliability engineer who already operates independently: someone who scripts confidently, runs systems rather than just stands them up, and wants to own a piece of the estate end to end. You do not need to be a software engineer. You do need to be fluent working alongside them.</p> <h3>WHAT YOU'LL DO</h3> <ul> <li>Own a workstream end to end — a CI/CD pipeline, an observability area, or an environment-build automation set — across its design, implementation and day-to-day running</li> <li>Write readable automation in Python, Bash or Go to remove toil and keep systems healthy</li> <li>Build and extend infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and diagnose broken environments to root cause from the signals available</li> <li>Work across the stack — cloud (AWS), orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), operating systems (Linux and Windows), and networking — and rotate across focus areas roughly every six months to build breadth</li> <li>Operate in both cloud-native and classified on-premises (Windows, Active Directory, VMware) environments, including air-gapped networks</li> <li>Apply secure-configuration baselines and security measures on your workstream within an established ISM/PSPF accreditation standard</li> <li>Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside software engineers, and help bring newer team members up to speed</li> </ul> <h3>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</h3> <ul> <li>Around five or more years running infrastructure, cloud operations, platform or Defence/MSP-infrastructure environments — demonstrated experience weighted over formal qualifications</li> <li>Confident scripting and automation in at least one of Python, Bash or Go, including handling error and edge cases without prompting</li> <li>Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform) in a production setting</li> <li>Solid breadth across most of the stack — cloud, operating systems, containers, CI/CD — and a strong understanding of networking in cloud and hybrid environments</li> <li>A track record of working independently and owning a piece of work through to running it</li> <li>Comfortable working across breadth and rotating focus areas, rather than staying in a single tool</li> <li>Australian citizen, able to obtain and maintain an Australian NV2 security clearance (existing NV2 or equivalent preferred)</li> </ul> <h3>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</h3> <ul> <li>Experience with Kubernetes in production, and with one or more cloud platforms beyond AWS</li> <li>Experience in highly regulated environments (Defence or other Critical Infrastructure), including exposure to ISM/PSPF accreditation</li> <li>Experience with classified or air-gapped on-premises infrastructure (Windows, Active Directory, VMware)</li> <li>Software-engineering depth — for example production service development in Go, Rust or similar — is welcomed and can open additional, more software-heavy reliability roles, but is not required and is never a screen for this role</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span data-contrast="auto">The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
