Job Description Assistant Designer Overview An established Los Angeles fashion team is seeking an Assistant Designer to support ready-to-wear programs for a major retail account. This full-time opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a creative, fast-moving environment and is eager to contribute across multiple phases of the design process. From research and concept development to presentation support and product execution, this role offers strong exposure to the full lifecycle of apparel design. What You’ll Be Doing Conduct trend, market, and competitive research to inspire seasonal development Create sketches and CADs that support design direction and product assortments Assist with sample tracking, organization, and overall design support Develop line sheets and other merchandising or presentation tools Prepare boards and materials for meetings, reviews, and internal presentations Help manage fabric development calendars across multiple programs Maintain fabric references and organize core library resources Partner with the broader team on daily design needs and special projects What We’re Looking For 1–3 years of assistant design experience within ready-to-wear or apparel Strong sketching, illustration, and CAD skills Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Excel Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively Working knowledge of line sheets, tech packs, and development processes A proactive mindset with a willingness to jump in where needed Experience working with overseas vendors or cross-functional partners is a plus Position Details Full-time opportunity Hybrid schedule, 3–4 days onsite Based in Los Angeles, California
