Remote, Nationwide – Seeking a President and Chief Executive Officer (The Mutual RRG) This is a rare and impactful opportunity to lead The Mutual RRG, a medical professional liability organization dedicated to supporting physicians and advancing high-quality patient care. Operating in close partnership with Vituity as its single client, The Mutual RRG offers a unique model focused on alignment, collaboration, and long-term impact. We are seeking a strategic, relationship-driven President and Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization in partnership with the Board of Directors and executive leadership. The Opportunity: Chief Executive Leadership The CEO will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and performance of the organization. This role requires a leader who can balance operational excellence with long-term strategy while fostering a highly collaborative, service-oriented culture. Leadership and Strategy • Lead the development and execution of the organization’s long-term strategic vision in alignment with Vituity growth • Partner with the Board of Directors to identify and address key strategic priorities • Drive financial performance, profitability, and sustainable growth • Support geographic and service expansion aligned with Vituity’s needs Operational and Organizational Leadership • Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure high standards of quality and responsiveness • Build and develop a high-performing executive leadership team • Establish and maintain operational systems, processes, and infrastructure to support growth • Ensure effective communication and alignment across the organization Financial and Business Oversight • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis • Ensure strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and fiscal discipline • Partner with actuarial, underwriting, and claims leadership to support sound business decisions Claims and Client Partnership • Collaborate with senior leadership, including Vituity executives, on the management of significant claims • Support a client-centered claims philosophy that prioritizes transparency and partnership • Maintain and strengthen the organization’s relationship with Vituity, ensuring alignment and trust Board and Stakeholder Engagement • Partner closely with the Board Chair and Board of Directors on governance and strategic direction • Prepare and present regular updates on financial performance, operations, and growth initiatives • Represent the organization with credibility to stakeholders, partners, and the broader industry Required Experience and Competencies • 10+ years of senior leadership experience within medical professional liability insurance or a closely related sector • Demonstrated expertise across insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and financial management • Strong understanding of healthcare and physician practice environments • Experience working with Boards and regulatory bodies • Proven ability to lead, develop, and scale organizations Preferred Qualifications • Prior CEO or executive leadership experience within an MPL organization • Experience supporting geographic or service line expansion • Familiarity with reinsurance program design and execution • Advanced degree in business or a related field Compensation The expected total compensation range for this role is approximately $850,000 – $1,100,000, inclusive of base salary and performance-based incentives. Compensation includes: • Base salary • Non-discretionary annual incentive • Discretionary bonus tied to performance Final compensation will be determined based on experience, expertise, and internal equity considerations. Location This is a primarily remote role with regular in-person engagement required with Vituity leadership and The Mutual RRG team. A California-based candidate is strongly preferred. Travel will be required, including quarterly in-person meetings, leadership sessions, annual meetings with reinsurers and participation in meetings and engagements with the Medical Professional Liability (MPL) Association.
