About The Role We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Game Designer to join our team at Disney Experiences, specifically within the 20th Century Games group. In this full-time position, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and collaborating on multiple game projects that utilize Disney's extensive portfolio of properties. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that each game aligns with the overarching brand vision and quality standards of 20th Century Games. Unlike traditional game development roles that focus on hands-on engine work, this position emphasizes reviewing, guiding, and providing strategic feedback on game design elements across various projects. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of experience in game design or development, with a proven track record of completing at least two full project cycles. Expertise in multiple design disciplines such as combat, level, systems, progression, or UI/UX is highly desirable. A strong working knowledge of game engines like Unreal or Unity, along with familiarity with proprietary tools, is essential. Candidates should have experience working across diverse genres and gameplay styles, demonstrating versatility and adaptability. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is preferred. Willingness to travel domestically and possess valid identification for travel purposes is required. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with the Creative Lead to review and provide constructive feedback on gameplay mechanics, assets, documentation, and milestone builds from partner studios, ensuring alignment with brand standards and quality benchmarks. Manage communication pipelines effectively to facilitate smooth review, approval, and iteration processes throughout the development cycle. Assist studios in maintaining core project pillars, gameplay identity, and conventions to ensure consistency and brand integrity across all projects. Serve as a reliable source of brand and gameplay information, offering guidance and clarity to development teams at various experience levels. Participate in regular meetings with game directors, creative leads, and staff to track progress, address challenges, and align on project goals. Support the product management team in guiding submission workflows, meeting deadlines, and coordinating team responses to project milestones and releases. Establish and communicate standardized conventions and benchmarks for gameplay features, systems, and assets applicable across multiple projects. Stay informed about industry standards, emerging trends, and technological advancements relevant to Disney's game portfolio, integrating this knowledge into project reviews and recommendations.
