Description

Our client, a B2B provider of infection prevention and hygiene solutions serving healthcare, foodservice, and commercial markets, is seeking an experienced healthcare regulatory lawyer to join its legal team in Bergen County, NJ. This is a highly visible, hands-on role with meaningful ownership across the company’s regulatory landscape. Reporting directly to the organization’s CLO, the successful candidate will lead day-to-day regulatory counseling for the broader organization, partnering closely with business and functional leaders to navigate compliance, risk, and product-related matters. In parallel, the role serves as the primary legal partner to the company’s growing Foodservice division—advising on FDA-related issues while also supporting a range of commercial and transactional matters. Approximately 70% of the work is enterprise regulatory counseling, with 30% focused on the Foodservice business. Well-suited for an in-house lawyer seeking greater breadth, autonomy, and direct business engagement, this role offers the opportunity to step into a key advisory position and have a tangible impact on a growing platform. • Base annual salary of at least $210,000, plus eligibility for a performance bonus of up to 30% (target total annual compensation of approximately $273-$312K). Responsibilities: • Lead the company’s regulatory legal function, advising on healthcare and consumer product laws (including FDA, EPA, and FTC) impacting a diverse product portfolio • Partner closely with Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Quality, and commercial teams to support compliant product development, marketing, and manufacturing (including GMPs) • Serve as the primary legal advisor to the Foodservice business unit, providing day-to-day counseling on FDA-related matters as well as general commercial and transactional issues • Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements in support of business operations and growth initiatives • Support regulatory inspections, audits, and inquiries, including developing strategy and responses to government authorities • Monitor and interpret evolving laws, regulations, and policy developments, translating them into practical, business-oriented guidance • Help shape and maintain the company’s compliance framework, including policies, training, and internal resources • Collaborate cross-functionally on key business initiatives, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives • Manage and oversee outside counsel as needed Required Qualifications: • J.D. and bar admission in good standing (NJ or NY strongly preferred) • 7+ years of experience in healthcare regulatory law, with FDA experience strongly preferred • Deep, sector-specific expertise in healthcare/life sciences regulatory frameworks; broader regulatory or administrative law experience alone is not sufficient • Demonstrated ability to independently lead regulatory counseling and serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders • Blend of law firm and in-house experience strongly preferred • Experience advising on commercial contracting and general corporate matters; exposure to litigation or employment issues is a plus • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
