About the Opportunity
The Software Engineer II, Computational Platform plays a critical role in building and maintaining the organization's internal and external AI products. This position is responsible for developing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure and tooling that empower scientists and partners to advance AI-driven genetic medicine. The role contributes directly to delivering innovative solutions that translate scientific and clinical challenges into production-ready systems.
Responsibilities
Product Reliability & Scale: Ensure the engineering quality and reliability of external-facing AI products. Scale AI product workflows to smoothly handle thousands of simultaneous operations.
Scientific Translation: Translate complex scientific and clinical questions into functional APIs, data pipelines, and intuitive user-facing tools.
Data Platform Development: Develop and maintain data platforms optimized for AI data generation, processing, and serving, paying strict attention to data access, cloud security, and data lifecycle management.
Production Optimization: Accelerate development cycles from initial prototypes to production deployments while maintaining an optimal balance between speed and reliability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with a high sense of urgency and adaptability, balancing innovation with disciplined execution. Collaborate across teams within a high-trust, high-impact culture to drive meaningful results.
Requirements
Professional Experience: Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience. Proven experience contributing to production-grade AI-driven applications or agentic AI products.
Core Technical Stack: Advanced expertise in Python (or similar programming languages), alongside practical experience with React and JavaScript.
Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP and/or AWS. This must include direct experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud networking, and cloud security frameworks.
Data Engineering: A solid background in data engineering concepts, including working with relational databases and data modeling.
Engineering Best Practices: Strong proficiency in standard software development best practices, including continuous deployment, code and environment management, and security protocols.
Core Competencies: A proactive problem-solving mindset with strong professional alignment with accountability and adaptability.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience operating within the biotech or life sciences industries.
Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), agent-based systems, or modern AI workflows.
Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices.
Experience designing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) systems and writing optimized SQL queries.
Deep awareness of current database and data processing technologies.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation
Base Salary: Base salary range of $124,842.05 to $154,084.36 per year. Final placement is determined by geographic location, skills, and experience.
