We are building the modern infrastructure for small business lending, combining technology, data, and operational excellence to deliver a faster, more transparent financing experience. Position Overview LoanBud is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology organization and play a central role in shaping the future of our platform. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strong engineering leadership with deep product thinking. You will be responsible for building and scaling our technology platform, leading the engineering team, and ensuring our product delivers an exceptional user experience for borrowers, partners, and internal teams. The ideal candidate understands that great technology is not just about code, it’s about solving real problems, improving user journeys, and enabling business growth. Key Responsibilities Technology Leadership & Strategy • Define and execute the company’s technology strategy and roadmap • Align technology initiatives with business goals and product vision • Make architectural decisions that support scalability, performance, and reliability Product & Customer Experience • Partner closely with leadership to shape product strategy and user experience • Ensure all technology decisions prioritize ease of use, speed, and customer experience • Translate business needs into high-quality product execution Engineering Team Leadership • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing engineering team • Establish strong development processes, standards, and culture • Recruit, mentor, and retain top technical talent Software Development & Delivery • Oversee the full software development lifecycle from concept to release • Ensure high-quality code, testing, and deployment practices • Maintain a strong focus on speed, execution, and delivery Platform & Infrastructure • Design and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable systems • Oversee infrastructure, integrations, and data architecture • Ensure uptime, performance, and system resilience Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work closely with Product, Operations, Credit, and Sales teams • Translate business workflows into efficient technical solutions • Ensure alignment between technology and operational execution Innovation & Continuous Improvement • Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies, including AI and automation • Continuously improve development workflows and system performance • Drive a culture of innovation and experimentation Who We’re Looking For • Product-Minded Leader – Thinks beyond engineering and focuses on user outcomes • Builder Mentality – Enjoys building systems from the ground up and scaling them • Strategic & Pragmatic – Balances long-term vision with practical execution • Strong Leader & Communicator – Leads engineers and communicates effectively across teams • Customer-Focused – Prioritizes usability, speed, and customer experience • Ownership & Accountability – Takes responsibility for outcomes and maintains high standards Requirements • 8–15+ years of experience in software engineering and technology leadership • Proven experience building and scaling technology platforms • Experience leading engineering teams in a startup or high-growth environment • Strong understanding of modern architecture, cloud infrastructure, and APIs • Experience partnering closely with product and business teams • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on Nice to Have • Experience in fintech, lending, or financial services • Experience building marketplaces or multi-sided platforms • Familiarity with compliance, security, and regulated environments • Experience leveraging AI or automation in product development Be Part of Our Growth Story Join LoanBud and help build the technology powering the future of small business financing.
