About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Flight Simulation Software Engineer to join our Flight Simulation I Labs team located in Daytona Beach, FL. This role is pivotal in supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) initiatives by developing and maintaining sophisticated simulation tools and models. The successful candidate will contribute to creating core simulation infrastructure, developing tools for monitoring and controlling digital messages, modeling aircraft capabilities and subsystems, and supporting constructive scenario testing for product development and training purposes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on state-of-the-art simulation technologies in a dynamic and collaborative environment, directly impacting the future of aerospace defense systems.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, data science, or related fields. Candidates must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. A minimum of two years of professional experience programming in C++ and experience as a Software Engineer are essential. Additional skills that are highly desirable include experience in modeling and simulation, familiarity with defense or avionics industries, and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, or Ada. Strong communication and coordination abilities, along with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Develop, document, and maintain architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for simulation software systems.
Create and integrate software components to develop fully functional simulation environments.
Support modeling of various aircraft capabilities and subsystems to ensure accurate simulation performance.
Design and develop tools to monitor, control, and simulate digital messages within lab environments.
Build simulation environments to facilitate testing by Mission Systems engineers, enabling validation and verification of aerospace products.
Participate in agile development teams, collaborating effectively to meet project goals and deadlines.
Conduct research and development activities, documenting findings and integrating innovative solutions into existing systems.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure simulation systems meet operational requirements and performance standards.
