What To Expect
You will join a small, expert team building the internal applications for the tax and accounting teams which cover our vehicle, energy, and solar businesses. You will contribute to building scalable and high performing applications which will help Tesla finance team track and achieve the company's financial goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building world-class software and a track record of success creating scalable software systems. You will need strong software engineering skills, excellent interpersonal communication, and experience accepting and giving meaningful feedback on technical designs and pull requests.
What You'll Do
Consistently produce high-quality code that is maintainable and solves real-world problems
Lead projects from requirements to architectural design to implementation to testing to production
Seamlessly solve problems at many layers of the stack including debugging packet loss when communicating with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) to designing for data consistency in massive globally distributed databases
Collaborate with multiple teams, including Program Managers, Product Engineers, Performance Engineers, Infrastructure teams to ensure project delivery
Prioritize building production-critical software systems that have sufficient validation, monitoring, and support strategies
Interface with multi-disciplinary teams including Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain
Participate in code review process and review the pull requests received from local and remote team members
Perform quality testing on changes made by development team
What You'll Bring
Degree in Computer Science, Comupter Engineering, Electrical Engineering or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
Minimum 4 year of working experience (preferred 6+ years)
Demonstrated experience implementing large-scale projects in Go, Java, C++, C#, Python, or similar
Understanding of core aspects of backend development (including SQL databases, networking, and security)
Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and at least one modern frontend framework (React, Angular.js, Svelte, etc.)
Proficiency with web development, such as reading Splunk logs, working with Swagger, and using REST APIs
Experience with DevOps tooling such as Kubernetes & Jenkins
Comfortable with all aspects of rigorous software development and maintenance (version control, code reviews, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, etc.)
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to lead technical initiatives from conception to production
Previous experience with financial, tax, or treasury systems is a plus

Expected Compensation
$120,000 - $252,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
