Operations Manager

Operations Manager Culpeper, VA WANTED! –Operations Manager Some one who is looking for a Career Path with a Successful Company We have an opening for an Operations Manager at our Culpeper, VA location. In this position you will be responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and ensuring the safety of our operations. You will also be trained and mentored in the waste business to prepare you for future management opportunities in our well established and profitable company. Responsibilities: Assigns and supervises work crews operating solid waste collection equipment Monitors progress of daily operations, and reassigns employees and makes route changes as necessary Conducts safety meetings and audits Maintains employee files Responsible for Dispatch Department Issues progressive disciplinary action as necessary Conducts field inspections of route crews to ensure proper work procedures Receives and reviews customer complaints regarding collection programs Ensures customer satisfaction Handles customer acquisitions Performs quarterly reviews of all drivers Coordinates with other Supervisors (MRF, Maintenance, Office) Develop and maintain metrics that indicate the performance level of the company (truck turns, dollars per pull, hours without lost time accidents, etc.) Tracks waste movement daily to make sure that the cycle is completed (dispatch, pick up, delivery to transfer / waste facility, final disposal, return to base) Responsible for building a reliable driver team including building a fair and sustainable compensation package. Makes suggestions on equipment changes to improve efficiency. Works with the MRF Manager to ensure the security and continued operation of that facility. May be involved in recruiting and training Management staff. On-call availability and reliable communication at all hours. Others duties as assigned Requirements: Qualified applicants will meet the following minimum requirements: 2+ years prior Supervisory experience; waste industry preferred Commercial CDL or the ability to obtain one in the future VA Waste Facility Operators License or the ability to obtain one within one year. Prior Logistics or Route Supervision experience helpful. 4 year degree preferred The ability to work with minimal supervision and to “think on your feet” Successful candidates are those who seek to thrive in a fast paced challenging environment and those who do not fear accountability.
