Job Details Description Job Title: Director of Emergency Services Department: Loss Prevention Reports to: VP Loss Prevention The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and administrative management of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Public Safety operations. This position ensures the protection of guests, employees, visitors, property, and organizational assets through comprehensive emergency preparedness, medical response, security operations, risk management, and crisis leadership. The Director of Emergency Services develops and implements policies, procedures, training programs, and operational standards that support a safe, secure, and service-oriented environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role serves as the primary leader for emergency management initiatives, medical response coordination, public safety operations, and interagency partnerships. Key Responsibilities Be a Champion of the 4 Keys by leading with Safety, Courtesy, Inclusion, and Efficiency in every interaction while helping create Guests for Life Lead with a positive attitude and professional presence, serving as a role model for exceptional guest service and team engagement. Promote and maintain a culture where safety is the top priority for team members, guests, and the community. Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for EMS, Public Safety, Dispatch, and Emergency Management functions across the resort. Develop and execute departmental goals, strategic initiatives, operational plans, and performance standards that align with organizational objectives. Oversee staffing models, scheduling, labor management, budgeting, and departmental expenditures to ensure operational effectiveness and fiscal responsibility. Direct, mentor, and support managers, supervisors, paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, public safety officers, and support personnel to achieve departmental goals. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, inclusion, continuous improvement, and service excellence. Coach, develop, and evaluate team members through regular feedback, performance evaluations, recognition, and corrective action when necessary. Build strong cross-functional partnerships to ensure seamless operations, effective emergency response, and outstanding guest experiences throughout the resort. Ensure all emergency response, public safety, and dispatch operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, certifications, and company standards. Qualifications And Requirements Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, Criminal Justice, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in EMS, emergency management, public safety, law enforcement, fire service, healthcare emergency preparedness, or related field. Current EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic certification preferred. Strong knowledge of EMS operations, emergency response protocols, incident command systems (ICS), emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance. Experience managing departmental budgets, labor costs, capital expenditures, and operational planning. Proven ability to lead large teams, develop talent, and foster a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, state EMS requirements, risk management practices, and workplace safety standards. Experience developing policies, procedures, emergency action plans, and training programs. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage critical incidents, emergency situations, and crisis communications. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, local emergency responders, government agencies, healthcare providers, and community partners. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with scheduling, reporting, and incident management systems. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required. NIMS and Incident Command System (ICS) certifications preferred or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe. CPR, First Aid, AED, and other applicable emergency response certifications preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-in situations as operational needs require.
